Update 8/24/15 - Spanish VersionI have been working on the revisions provided by Margo, but since I don't read, write or understand Spanish, it is proving to be quite a challenge, again! However, there has been much joy in this part of the journey because the Holy Spirit has taken me into deeper understanding of the Word by digging into the roots of the Hebrew words to make sure the translation is correct! One word in the book of Haggai has had me pondering for several days, seeking God's guidance. I continue the journey with patience!

Update 8/1/15 - Margo's News!
I have just received a brief email from Margo, my friend who has been working on the index for the Spanish translation. She said she is finished! We will meet soon! See update on "News" page 8/8/15
Update 7/4/14 - from Reza Karg in Suriname
If I were to write a few words on behalf of the 5th anniversary of the Tabernacle for a Shadow it would go like this...
What a journey, comparable to a life's journey this has turned out to be.....a part of life's journey at least...
While making a friend (Susan Conner) and excited about the new friendship and a new opportunity to do something meaningful for the glory of God,.... I made a promise. As soon as I could, I started to make good on my promise and as eager as I was and still am for that mater, the journey began. A journey of translating the Tabernacle for a Shadow from English to Dutch. Without me knowing it, this journey would also turn into a word study at times without me even knowing that there was something called exegesis. It would be only after one and a half years, after starting my study in theology that I got to know this. Now I'm in my second year and I even have a program "The Word" that both I and the "Tabernacle for a Shadow" can benefit from. Although I am a person that comes through when he gives his word, it was not my intention to let it take this long..... and although on one hand it could sound like a poor excuse for not having finished it yet, I now feel a bit more worthy of taking on the task to re read and continue with the translation process. I kind of feel like I have to submit to circumstances and although it lengthens the process, it is beneficial to the quality. I will finish the job and am honored to also feel the protective shade of the tabernacle over my life. Thank you also for being patient with me dear sister Susan. Your brother in Christ

Note: Exegesis means “exposition or explanation.” Biblical exegesis involves the examination of a particular text of scripture in order to properly interpret it. Exegesis is a part of the process of hermeneutics, the science of interpretation. A person who practices exegesis is called an exegete.
Good biblical exegesis is actually commanded in scripture. “Study [be diligent] to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). According to this verse, we must handle the Word of God properly, through diligent study.

Update 9/9/13
It has taken a lot of time for the Spanish version to get this far! Although Maximo and Zioly completed the text portion of the book last November, it took a while for me to get it in the proper format and then try to proof read it as much as I could. That was not an easy task for me, since I don't know Spanish. Fortunately another Christian sister, Margo Snyder, offered to proof-read the pages while on her summer vacation with her husband Wes (who did all the driving so she could read!) She did that and then took up the challenge of the Index, which she is working on now. Not an easy task! Again, I want to thank Maximo and Zioly for all the work they did and another thank you to Margo!
Update 11/17/12
It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since I wrote the last update. Maximo and Zioly completed their Spanish translation of the book and I have almost finished putting it in the same format as the English version. Next will be proof-reading and praying for funds to get the Spanish version printed and distributed. Please continue to pray for funds and others to help with distribution. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this project!
Update 12/10/11
I am so pleased to see the great progress made by Maximo and Zioly in the translation of the book into Spanish. I am in the process of putting it into the proper format, which will take some time, but as God is faithful to provide opportunities, I will update as to when we may expect to see it printed in Spanish.
Update 9/12/11
When I finally understood that God wanted me to glorify Him by making a book using photographs that I had taken over a 25 year period, I doubted my ability. However, I did not doubt what He said: "It will go around the world and be in other languages."
He said it would bring Him much more glory that the first book I had done in 1997, Drinking Water Quality - Taking Responsibility. I knew He had taken that book all over the United States and even into a couple of other countries. So, I knew what He could do. That was just ONE example where He had proved His faithfulness to me. You see, shortly after that book was printed, the Lord said "It will be in all 50 states." Within a few weeks, it was! That book can still be found online on Amazon. But that's another story. This book, Tabernacle for a Shadow is now in the process of being translated into Spanish, German and Dutch
Others have offered to translate it into Russian, Creole, Tagakaulo-Kalagan, a language of the Philippines
Please pray for these Christians who have offered to do this, knowing I do not have funds to pay them. If you would like to help in this project, please contact me or Joseph using the contact page. Thank you

I am very excited to see some of the translation in Spanish and Dutch.
Here is the inside jacket cover of the book translated into these two languages:
Spanish TranslationSeñor, tú me mostraste sombras hoy.
Sombras corriendo al lado de la gente. Tú me dijiste que Tu sombra estaba algunas veces en frente de mí, guiándome; Tu sombra estaba algunas veces detrás de mí, alentándome a continuar; Tu sombra estaba algunas veces a mi lado, animándome; y cuando yo no podía ver Tu sombra, Tu sombra moraba en mí. Tú me mostraste que estabas conmigo, pudiera verte o no. Tú me has mostrado tu grandeza y mi pequeñez. Tú me has mostrado tu perdón y mis fracasos. Tú eres grande. Tú eres amoroso. Tú no te acuerdas de mis errores. Gracias Señor Jesús. Oh Señor, Ayúdame a ser más como Tú. Ayúdame a dejar de lado (olvidar) mis fracasos Y seguir (moverme) adelante en tu Santo Espíritu. Por favor mora en mí siempre, ¿lo harás? Por supuesto, respondió el Señor, YO ESTOY. |
Dutch TranslationHeer, U toonde mij vandaag schaduwen.
Schaduwen lopend naast mensen. U zei me dat Uw schaduw soms voor mij uitging, Leidend; Uw schaduw soms Achter mij was, Voorwaarts aanmoedigend; Uw schaduw soms naast mij, bemoedigend En wanneer ik niet kon zien Uw schaduw, Vertoefde Uw schaduw in mij. U toonde mij dat U met mij was, Als ik nou kon zien of niet. U toonde mij Uw grootheid en mijn nietigheid. U toonde mij Uw vergevingsgezindheid en mijn fouten. U bent groot. U bent liefdevol. U houd niet bij mijn wandaden Dank U Heer Jezus O Heer Help mij om meer als U te zijn. Help mij om mijn fouten los te laten. en voort te gaan In Uw Heilige Geest. Vertoeft alstublieft voortdurend in mij, Zal U? Natuurlijk, antwoordde de Heer, IK BEN. |
